Ego-media Theory and Ethnography: Surveying Research and Tracking User Practices

This portion of “Ego-Media” is dedicated to designing an ethnographic study of online identity practices. This will involve surveying users’ views of varieties of autobiographical media, tracking shifts in online habits and practices over the period of the project. The research will draw on traditional sociological methods such as questionnaires and interviews, and establish a practice of “self observation online”, in the hope of creating a mass observation project for the digital age.
