I am a psychology and neuroscience researcher, with particular expertise in Qualitative Methods and Health Service Research. My PhD focused on experiences of memory loss in older adulthood. I have previously worked on a large randomized-controlled trial of an educational intervention for people with epilepsy, and recently a project concerning dementia prevention.
In June 2017, I have joined the Ego-Media team to work on a project designed by Professor Leone Ridsdale. The topic is “The Impact of New Media on People with Epilepsy”. It has research ethics approval from King’s College London (reference: PNM/13/14-18). Epilepsy Action advertised for volunteers with epilepsy to be interviewed on their use of social media. Dr Rebecca Roach interviewed 14 volunteers from across the UK. These interviews have been transcribed.
I’m particularly interested in understanding how people with epilepsy represent themselves online using social media, and hope the findings will be useful in developing interventions to help people with epilepsy. The plan is for me to analyse and write-up the results using qualitative methods. We plan to present and publish the findings from this Neuroscience theme in the Ego-Media programme in academic peer-reviewed journals.

Hard for social media to have a impact, when controversial issues regarding epilepsy, are censored or undermined. As one who suffers epilepsy, my life has been hell, when being a unwitting subject of CIA MK-ULTRA covert lobotomy and brain implant experimentation, without informed consent, nor parental knowledge, while under the guise of treating epilepsy. (ie-“scar tissue removal”) Such covert operations that are not conducive for treating epilepsy, and correlate with Manchurian Candidate developmental research. In order to survive the criminal assault and battery by Neurosurgeon Dr. Harold Joseph Hoffman of the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children, I had to endure twenty years before the courts as to strike down Canada’s marijuana laws as unconstitutional, and legalize marijuana for medical necessity.
